Virtual workshops
We recently delivered a series of 3 virtual workshops for voluntary and community organisations around neurodiversity in the workplace and the DWP Access to Work support scheme.
Many small charities and community organisations can struggle with the challenges and barriers associated with hiring people who experience additional needs for support. They don’t know where to turn for support and don’t know that there is funding available.
Our workshops raised awareness of services, resources and adjustments which can help people with neurodiversity in the workplace. This includes how a manager can support them and what other support is available for individuals.
Delegates reported that they:
i) had more insight into how widespread neurodiversity is and so many ways it can affect people’s lives,
ii) were better informed when engaging with clients, both current and prospective ones, and in supporting family,
iii) had a greater understanding.
